About the Initiative

What is Darb Rezq?

Darb Rezq is a non-profit development initiative born in 2025 to support small and micro-projects in crisis-affected areas, with a focus on Syria. We work as a trusted intermediary between project owners and supporters.

How does the initiative work?

We work as an intermediary platform connecting small project owners with supporters. We do not have our own funding sources, but rely on crowdfunding and external donations to support selected projects.

What exactly is your role?

  • We receive and document projects in the field
  • We evaluate projects according to clear criteria and select the most suitable ones
  • We prepare project profiles and present them to supporters
  • We launch dedicated funding campaigns and add projects to our general directory
  • We follow up on implementation and provide regular reports to supporters

For Project Applicants

What types of projects do you support?

We support small and micro-projects ready for implementation, such as:

  • Small agricultural projects
  • Home-based food production projects
  • Professional workshops (tailoring, blacksmithing, carpentry)
  • Small grocery stores in areas that need them

What are the application requirements?

Your project must be:

  • Ready for implementation with a clear idea and simplified feasibility study
  • Fully studied in terms of costs, marketing, and operations
  • Sustainable and able to continue after support
  • Of real community value
  • What it lacks is funding or purchasing equipment only

How long does project evaluation take?

The evaluation process includes:

  1. Initial screening of the application
  2. Field visit to evaluate the project on the ground
  3. Comprehensive assessment according to our criteria
  4. Final decision

Duration varies depending on project complexity and information availability.

What is the funding repayment system?

The Principle: Instead of giving money as a gift, the project owner commits to gradually repaying the amount after their project succeeds, to be used in supporting other projects. This way, every successful project becomes a seed for new projects.

  • Scheduling flexibility according to each project’s circumstances and ability to pay
  • No interest or additional fees
  • The goal is initiative sustainability, not profit

For Supporters

How can I support the initiative?

You can support in two ways:

  1. Dedicated campaigns: Selected projects for which we launch media-supported campaigns

  • Regular reports with photos and videos of progress
  • Publishing updates on each project’s page so supporters can see their impact
  • Complete financial transparency in money usage

How do you follow up on projects after funding?

  • Regular follow-up with project owners 3-4 times annually
  • Field visits to assess progress on the ground
  • Challenge resolution and quick intervention when problems arise
  • Regular reports to supporters about work progress

Can I visit the projects I supported?

Yes, project visits can be arranged after prior coordination with our team. We encourage this direct communication between supporters and project owners.
